Sea Waves Manipur convenes GB Meet

IMPHAL, Dec 27 : The literary group ‘Sea Waves Manipur’, an association of Manipuri writers who write in English, held its General Body Meeting on December 27, 2025.
As per a release issued by Sea Waves Manipur, the event took place at the scenic ‘Bijali Leikol’ Eco Park and Open-Air Auditorium in Itam Nungoi Khunou, near Sawombung Kabui Khul, Imphal East District.
The event was marked by the release of the poetry collection ‘The Wild Garden’ by Prof Damodar Laishram and appointment of new office bearers.
Veteran writer Phurailatpam Brajamuhini Devi, Ningombam Satyabati, Dr Raheijuddin Sheikh, Dr P Rajendra Singh and Yaima Haoba were appointed as the new president, vice president, secretary, joint secretary and treasurer respectively.
Prof Sadananda Singh, former secretary of Sea Waves Manipur also presented the annual report, tracing the group’s journey since its founding in 2003.
Sea Waves Manipur’s outgoing president JK Luwang, former president Y Indira Devi, member Prof Ng Iboton Singh and Manipur Literary Society founding member H Chura Singh attended the meeting as presidium members.
