U-16 Boys and Women’s Polo Tournaments New Vision PC-A into boys’ semis; AR Women’s Polo Team beat CHPC 8-7

IMPHAL, Dec 27 : New Vision PC-A thrashed K&MM Riding School-B by 6-1 goals to cruise into the semi-finals of the ongoing 9th Junior Boys’ Polo Tournament at Mapal Kangjeibung.
New Vision PC-A enjoyed a 4-0 lead till halfway mark in this one sided encounter match against K&MM Riding School-B courtesy of two goals coming from Bikashnanda and a goal apiece from Paringanba and Naobi.
Paringanba and Michael then scored a goal apiece in the final chukker to see out the game 6-1 after Jeit Khan scored the consolation goal for K&MM Riding School-B in the third chukker.
New Vision PC-A will play the winners between Arvind PC-A and K&MM Riding School-C in the semi-finals.
Meanwhile in the 20th Women’s State Polo Tournament, AR Women’s Polo Team beat Chingkheihunba Polo Club (CHPC) by 8-7 goals to open their league campaign on a winning note.
Veronica starred with a treble in the match including two of final three goals to set up the narrow win for AR Women’s Polo Team who trailed 2-3 behind CHPC in first chukker, 4-5 in the second chukker and 5-6 in the third chukker.
Th Tanna added one and Bijenti added twice for CHPC, who overwhelmed Ibudhou Pakhangba Polo Club by 10-2 goals in the opening league match, to earn the 3-2 lead in the first chukker. N Laxmi and Veronica were on target for the AR Women's Polo Team in the chukker.
Th Tanna also added three more goals including twice in the second chukker to keep CHPC ahead by 5-4 goals despite Enourembi scoring twice for AR Women’s Polo Team.
H Pitu added AR Women’s Polo Team’s lone goal in the third chukker to remain close with CHPC whose Tanna scored her fourth in the third chukker.
AR Women’s Polo Team however surged ahead in the final chukker as Veronica added twice and Laxmi added one against one goal scored by RK Neelu for CHPC.
