Guv attends MSU's 92nd Anniv

IMPHAL, Dec 28: Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla has emphasized the Manipur Government’s commitment to unlocking the untapped potential of Senapati district.
He made the remark at the Sports Meet cum 92nd Anniversary 2025 of Mao Students’ Union (MSU) held at Punanamei in Senapati.
Organised under the theme ‘Empowering the Future through Sports’, the event commemorated the establishment of MSU in 1933 and its more than nine decades of service to society, said a press note issued by the Governor's Secretariat.
Marking the occasion, Governor Bhalla also unveiled a commemorative monolith.
Notable dignitaries present include L Dikho, MLA, 48 Mao AC; Dr Lorho S Pfoze, President, NPP Manipur State Unit and former Lok Sabha MP; Mamoni Doley, IAS, DC, Senapati; Sheikh Mohammad Zaib Zakir, IPS, SP, Senapati and MSU president among others.
Addressing the gathering, Governor Bhalla conveyed a strong message of solidarity, encouragement, and National support, reinforcing a shared commitment to equitable development, expanded opportunities, and lasting harmony across the State.
Highlighting the district’s rich cultural traditions and vast untapped potential in areas such as agriculture and horticulture, traditional crafts, sports, and eco-tourism, the Governor reiterated the Government’s commitment to unlocking this potential through focused development programmes, strengthened infrastructure, improved road connectivity, enhanced public services, and sustainable livelihood opportunities aligned with local aspirations.
He further remarked that the Mao region has long been known for its spirit of accommodation and mutual support, having extended shelter and assistance to various communities during challenging times.
The event also featured cultural performances by artistes from diverse communities.
