IMPHAL, Dec 28 : RULE, Meitram played out a 166-run tie with PCC, Mayaikoibi as MPSC beat AKSDO, Khangabok by 49 runs for the third straight win in today’s matches of the ongoing 5th MNCA Superplate Tournament.
At Khudeiband Lampak, RULE dismantled PCC for 166 runs in 31.1 overs but slumped to 166 all out in 34.2 overs to share a point apiece with their rivals in the entertaining Group A match.
Jay Singh (4/37 in 7 overs), Sanjenbam Ananda (3/23 in 7 overs), and Pukhrambam Rajesh (2/29 in 4.1 overs) had earlier impressed with the ball after they opted to field first.
Kangujam Boocker 36 off 18, Charoibam Tyson 32 off 28, Longjam Ronald 27 off 41 made the most of the scores for PCC in the first innings before Longjam Ronald produced a standout performance to collect 4 scalps alone in 7 overs by conceding 28 runs.
S Rohit (2/27 in 7 overs), K Boocker (1/33), L Anjan (1/15), and T Vikash (1/22) also picked crucial wickets to help PCC dismantle RULE line up despite Jay Singh’s fighting 72-ball 55.
Elsewhere at Model Hr Sec and Oriental College ground, MPSC cruised to 49-run victory courtesy of Sarangthem Shangker’s all-round show.
Sarangthem Shangker scored a 49-ball 60 on the back of 6 fours and 1 six to help MPSC post a remarkable total of 225/8 after they were asked to bat first. Shangker (3/33 in 7 overs) and Thoudam Gelson (2/37 in 7 overs) then led the frugal bowling attack to put AKSDO chase to an end at 176/6.
Thoudam Gelson 43 off 53, Yumkham Balajit 29 off 35, S Kingson 28 off 17, Md Fajiruddin 23 off 14, and S Sunil 21 off 36 also managed double digit scores for MPSC in the first innings as Akash Laishram (3/28 in 7 overs) and Saikhom Lanchenba (3/48) shared 6 wickets for AKSDO.
For AKSDO, L Samson 28 off 44, S Lanchenba 25 off 12, M Chinglensana 24 off 33, L Akash 23 off 13 and Kh Khamba 20 off 37 led the scoring in a lost cause.
