IMPHAL, Dec 29 : Bengal were 452/6 at stumps on Day 1 against Manipur in an Elite Group C league tie of the Vijay Merchant Trophy at Ravenshaw University Ground 1, Cuttack.
Tufan Roy was unbeaten on 205 off 265 balls after forging a 362 run partnership for the second wicket with Souhardya Neogi, who scored a 218-ball 184, to take Bengal to the huge total after Manipur won the toss and elected to field first.
Chingamba 1/50, M Swabhiman 1/110, Rojer 1/65, and S Bush 1/94 were among the wickets for Manipur till the close of the day.
