TCMDC, WYC extend winning run in 5th MNCA Plate Tournament

IMPHAL, Dec 29 : TCMDC, Thongju Part II Pechu Lampak and WYC, Thoubal Wangkhem extended their winning run to two games in the 5th MNCA Plate Tournament 2025-26.
TCMDC sealed their second straight Group A victory by securing an 81-run victory over KASC, Khomidok at Khudeiband Lampak today.
Asked to bat first, Laishram Vivekananda smacked a 94-ball 128 to guide TCMDC to a commanding total of 238/3 in the allotted 35 overs before Kongbrailatpam Kalyan Sharma (3/22), Urikhinbam Rain (2/21), and Kharibam Suraj (2/26) led in restricting KASC to 157/9 in reply.
Suraj 40 off 58 balls, Sarangthem Priyobarta 39 not out off 38 balls, and M Ashokumar 15 also managed double digit scores for TCMDC in the first innings that saw Bm Afsar (1/39), Qurshid Alam (1/45) and Bm Irfan (1/25) sharing three wickets for KASC.
In reply, Afjal Khan scored the highest 52 not out off 73 balls followed by Md Javed Aktar 30 off 27 balls and Md Ali Karim 20 off 22 balls.
L Vivekananda was eventually adjudged player of the match.
Elsewhere at Khangabok Cherapur Public Ground, WYC rode on Wangkhem Laksmon’s all round show to beat UCC, Kangchup Road by 84 runs.
Coming off from a loss to Al-Ameen in the previous match, WYC posted 161/7 in 30 overs against UCC after electing to bat first and bowled out UCC for just 77 runs within 23.4 overs.
N Ruhit led the WYC charge by adding an unbeaten 63 off 71 balls while W Laksmon and Thoudam Roshankumar  (not out) contributed 27 and 25 runs respectively in an innings that saw Th Mocha (3/30) and L Roshan (2/27) sharing 5 wickets for UCC.
In reply, UCC had a forgettable outing as W Laksmon (3/15 in 6 overs), M Sushil (1/8), Kh Arbin (1/9), N Ruhit (1/21), L Rajesh (1/1), and G Mangi (1/7) ran through their line with ease.
Laksmon was eventually declared player of the match.
