IMPHAL, Dec 29 : YAC, Yaiskul devastated RRCC, Churachandpur by 8 wickets for the 7th Group A victory in 8 matches at Lairenjam Public Ground in the 10th MNCA Plate Tournament to finish group winners and enter semi-finals.
YAC, who have lost only once in the last 7 league matches, rode on Wayenbam Indrakumar (5/13 in 6.5 overs) and Leihaothabam Singhajit Sharma (3/25 in 6 overs) to dismantle toss winners RRCC for 71 runs within 22.5 overs before Indrakumar clobbered 10 fours to score an unbeaten 50 off 31 balls and sealed the victory in 10.3 overs with 8 wickets left to spare.
Ajay 20 off 22 and Louriyam Elan 14 off 26 were the only double digit run getters for RRCC today in the first innings that also saw Oinam Kiran and Ng Amarjit claiming a wicket apiece for YAC.
L Pravin (2/19 in 5 overs) of RRCC registered the two wickets in the second innings.
Indrakumar who picked a fifer and scored a half century was eventually adjudged player of the match.
Elsewhere at Moijing Public Ground, SDC, Laipham Khunou beat YWC-Patsoi by 5 wickets to end their Group A campaign with 5 wins.
SDC dismissed toss winners YWC-P for 162 runs in 33.3 overs despite M Thoungamba’s unbeaten 63 off 85 balls, courtesy of a concerted bowling effort from N Rajiv (2/18), Sachin (2/25), and Narendra (2/38) and cruised to the winning 164/5 in 23.1 overs thanks to the unbeaten 98-run partnership between Vinodkumar Singh and Sanjenbam Nareshchandra.
Vinodkumar found the fence 9 times (3 fours and 6 sixes) as he remained unbeaten on 58 off 34 balls while Nareshchandra Sanjenbam scored 7 fours on the way to his 32-ball 35 not out. Narendra had earlier added 25 off 24 balls after SDC slumped to 56/4 in 11.4 overs.
For YWC-P, Kh Henry 14 and Th Milan 25 also managed double digit scores before Bir Raj Nga 2/34, L Priyo 2/27, and Lamyanba 1/22 shared 5 wickets in a lost cause.
With the result, YWC-P’s chances of making the top-two finish came to an end.
Vinodkumar was adjudged player of the match.
