IMPHAL, Dec 30 : Six student organizations viz AMSU, MSF, DESAM, KSA, SUK, and AIMS have once again called on the Board of Secondary Education, Manipur (BOSEM) to make academic textbooks available to students prior to the start of the 2026 academic session.
Speaking at a press briefing at the MSF office at Kwakeithel today, DESAM president Mayengbam Somorjit Meitei expressed concern that academic textbooks for Class I to X are still unavailable for the upcoming academic session.
He emphasised that this delay could disrupt the academic atmosphere.
BOSEM must make the textbooks available as soon as possible and ensure they meet the prescribed format and quality, he urged, adding that the student organizations will monitor the printing process of the books.
Somorjit said that they had raised the issue with the Governor on November 29 and December 25, but no tangible action has been taken so far.
He stated that they had also urged the Governor to reinstate Akham Joykumar as the BOSEM Chairman and to appoint a regular Secretary and Controller of Examinations for both BOSEM and COHSEM.
Somorjit appealed to the Governor to recruit individuals from academic backgrounds for key positions in examination bodies like BOSEM and COHSEM.
