Khemchand awarded 5th Dan

IMPHAL, Dec 30: BJP MLA Yumnam Khemchand was today awarded 5th Dan in the traditional Taekwondo martial art by the Global Traditional Taekwondo Federation in Seoul, South Korea. The certificate of the 5th Dan was issued by six Grand Masters in Taekwondo led by Jun Lee, president of the Global Traditional Taekwondo Federation.
The Global Traditional Taekwondo Federation is the highest body of the Korean Taekwondo in its traditional martial art form, while the World Taekwondo Federation controls its sports form.
Vice Chairman of the Global Traditional Taekwondo Federation, Mayong Suk today facilitated Khemchand at her office in Seoul.
The BJP MLA is the first person from India to receive the 5th Dan Black Belt in the traditional Taekwondo martial art form given by the Global Traditional Taekwondo Federation.
Khemchand was awarded the 5th Dan by the Global Traditional Taekwondo Federation in a Taekwondo promotion test conducted in accordance with the rules and regulations of the federation in October, 2024.
