AMGSU condemns

IMPHAL, Dec 30: The All Manipur Gorkha Students’ Union (AMGSU) has strongly condemned the brutal murder of Tripura student Anjel Chakma in Dehradun.
"The heinous and inhuman act has deeply shocked the society and it represents a grave violation of human rights and the rule of law," said AMGSU in a statement.
"It has been reported on various social media platforms that one Suraj Khawas from Manipur may also be involved in the incident. If there is any truth to these reports, AMGSU firmly demands that the law enforcement agencies conduct a deep, impartial, and thorough investigation from all angles and ensure that no individual involved is spared, irrespective of background or identity," the student body said.
Authorities concerned must deliver appropriate and exemplary punishment strictly as per the provisions of the law to all those who are found guilty in the case so that justice is served and such crimes are deterred in the future, it said.
It expressed condolences and shared the grief and pain of the bereaved family of Anjel Chakma.
It called on all sections of the society to maintain peace and unity, and collectively stand against violence, injustice, and criminal acts.
