THOUBAL, Dec 30: The house of the alleged mastermind of the killing of Khaidem (ongbi) Chaoba Devi of Wangoi Khaidem Leikai, Imphal West was vandalised today.
A group of people from the neighbourhood of late Chaoba's parental family came to Yairipok Bishnu-naha Mayai Leikai, Bamon Leirak, Thoubal district this afternoon and vandalised the house of alleged mastermind Shamurailatpam Kananbala alias Dhaneshwori.
Notably, Sh Kananbala alias Dhaneshwori has been already taken into police custody in connection with the suspicious death of Khaidem (ongbi) Chaoba. At around 10 am today, a group of people from Kananbala’s own locality raised an uproar and started attacking her house. As the mob started attacking the house, a team from Yairipok police station arrived and brought the situation under control. However, a large group of people from Iram Siphai, the parental home of Khaidem (ongbi) Chaoba Devi came to Yairipok at around 1.30 pm and vandalised the house of Kananbala alias Dhaneshwori. Soon, a team from Yairipok police station came and drove away the mob. But the house was already damaged before the mob was driven away by police.
