Veteran Cricket : SU beat UCC by 30 runs, go top of Group D table

IMPHAL, Dec 30 : SU, Sagolband climbed atop Group D table in the 22nd Manipur Veteran Cricket Tournament as they beat UCC, Uripok by 30 runs for the third win in four matches at Langthabal Public Ground.
Lirikhomba added a fluent 43 off 37 balls to take SU to 166/10 before Pyarlal picked four wickets (4/30 in 6 overs) to restrict toss winners UCC to 136/8 in reply.
Baleshwor 29 off 40 and Prameshwor 20 off 17 also made significant contributions in the SU innings that collapsed at 28.4 overs as Hemjit (3/25), Dhana (2/34), and Rustum (2/26) shared 7 wickets for UCC.
For UCC, Bipin 34, Rustum 20 and Bikramjit 20 not out led the scoring in a lost cause as Pyarlal and Chingkheinganba (2/22) shared 6 crucial wickets to keep their run rate in check.
Pyarlal who produced a match winning spell was adjudged man of the match.
