Fitting homage paid to late Prof Sanajaoba

IMPHAL, Dec 30: The 14th Oja Prof Naorem Sanajaoba Memorial Lecture 2025 was held today at National Research Centre (NRC), Canchipur under the aegis of the Oja Sanajaoba Memorial Trust (OSMT).
OSMT president and DMU former Vice Chancellor Prof (Retd) N Rajmuhon, OSMT trustee and MU School of Humanities former Dean Prof (retired) Soyam Lokendrajit, MU School of Human and Environment Science former Dean Prof W Nabakumar, MU Physics Department former Head Prof N Nimai and OSMT trustee and MU Political Science former Head Prof K Ibo attended the memorial lecture as presidium members.
Symbiosis Law School, Pune Assistant Professor Dr Laishram Malem Mangal was the speaker of the lecture programme held on the topic “Constitutional Government and the Manipur Constitution Act 1947- A Retrospection”.
OSMT managing trustee Sougrakpam Bhubon said that late Prof Naorem Sanajaoba was a champion of the people’s right.
He also worked extensively on liberation movements of marginalised communities, humanitarian laws and small independent Nations.
Prof Naorem Sanajaoba was also committed to protecting the rights of oppressed and suppressed people, Bhubon said.
He remarked that the contributions of Prof Naorem Sanajaoba to the Manipuri society are quite immense.
He further called upon all the people to build a collective future of Manipur on the foundation laid by Prof Naorem Sanajaoba.
