YUCC, PSC victorious in 10th MNCA Plate Tournament

IMPHAL, Dec 5 : YUCC, Kwakeithel Moirangpurel Leikai and PSC, Khuyathong secured their second wins today in 10th MNCA Plate Tournament being organised by the Manipur Cricket Association.
YUCC sealed their second win in three Group A matches by defeating YPHUC, Lalambung by 81 runs at Moijing Public Ground.
YUCC elected to bat first after winning the toss and raised a respectable total of 187 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in the allotted 32 overs. YUCC then defended their total by bowling out YPHUC for 106 runs within 27 overs to earn the big win.
YUCC did not have the best of the start and slumped to 61/5 within 13.5 overs but Shougrakpam Santosh revived the innings by forging a 63-run partnership off 59 balls with Ningthoujam Thoungamba 29 off 52 before he was caught out out for the highest 65 off 55 balls for the 7th wicket.
Shyam 20 and L Somraj 21 were unbeaten for the 8th wicket as YUCC folded up the innings at 187.
Irom Birbal 3/24 and Elam Vicky 2/42 were the leading run getters for YPHUC in this innings before they slumped to 106 all out with L Somraj 2/18, Shyam 2/19, M Kadamjit 2/22, and S Santosh 2/21 sharing 8 crucial wickets.
Irom Sunny 47 off 58 was the highest run getter for YPHUC as his other compatriots departed on ducks for single digit scores.
Santosh was adjudged player of the match.
Elsewhere at Lairenjam Public Ground, PSC posted their second straight win after the opening round defeat by handing MPA, Thounaojam a 5-wicket defeat.
 PSC managed to bowl out toss winners MPA for 97 runs within 30.5 overs riding on leading bowling efforts from Soubam Gautam 3/18 in 7 overs, H Ibungo 2/10, and L Martin 2/14 before cruising to the winning 100 in 22.2 overs .
H Guneshwor 31 not out off 70, Th Rojit 17 and Ch Albish 16 were the only double digit run getters for MPA in the first innings before Laimayum Prasantajit 27 off 37, N Tony 18, Kh Sagarjit 17 and H Boba 11 took PSC to the target with 5 wickets left to spare. For MPA, A Johny 2/23, Y Sheiteendra 1/22, Ch Albish 1/25 and H Guneshwor 1/18 were among the wickets.
