A daily bulletin issued by the Directorate of Environment and Climate Change noted that the cold weather began in the latter part of November this year.

Officials at the Directorate of Environment and Climate Change confirmed the early onset of extreme cold weather.
However, they clarified that it cannot yet be classified as a cold wave, as a cold wave is officially declared only when the mercury drops by at least 1 degree Celsius for five consecutive days.
