67 acres of poppy destroyed

IMPHAL, Dec 7: Security forces destroyed 67 acres of opium poppy plantations in several areas of Kangpokpi district on December 5 and 6. The plantations were destroyed in the hill ranges of Makui Ashang, Laloi, Wakotphai, Chaljang and surrounding areas under Kangpokpi police station, said Manipur Police.
During the operations, the security forces destroyed 38 huts, 44 bags of fertilizers, 43 herbicides and 26 salt bags and other equipment including spray pumps, pipes etc at the sites.
