SSU, YAC register second wins in 10th MNCA Plate Tournament

IMPHAL, Dec 8 : SSU, Singjamei earned a 29-run victory against THAU, Thangmeiband as YAC, Yaiskul beat OSCAR, Paona Bazar by 63 runs in today’s matches of the ongoing 10th MNCA Plate Tournament.
In the Group B match staged at Lairenjam Public Ground, toss winners SSU were bundled out for 152 in 34 overs despite Thongam Robertson’s fighting 62 off 106 balls but defended their total by bowling out THAU for 123 runs in 32 overs.
Khundrakpam Bidyananda enjoyed a six wicket haul (6/33)  for THAU while Thokchom Sushil (1/13) and Khundrakpam Aden (1/16) shared two wickets before their chased folded up at 123 in the face of fierce bowling efforts of Naorem Johnson (3/22) and Thongam Saikhomba (3/23) for SSU.
Th Leevasky and P Rohit scored 19 runs apiece for THAU while Kh Aden, Kh Romesh, and Ng Malesh Kumar scored 17 runs each.
Elsewhere at Moijing Public Ground, YAC defeated OSCAR for their second Group A victory in three matches.
YAC, who opted to bat first, were dismissed for a paltry total of 148 runs in 29.1 overs but their bowlers dismantled OSCAR for 85 runs in 19 overs.
Amit Singh 30, W Indrakumar 25, and Krishnananda 22 were the leading run getters for YAC in the first innings that saw Ph Deepa (3/12), W Pawankumar (2/24), and L Robinson (2/35) sharing 7 wickets for OSCAR.
Meanwhile, Th Sanjit 20, Sahil Ahmed 14, and Th Pradeep 14 were the double digit run getters for OSCAR in the second innings that saw Singhajit Sharma (2/22), W Indrakumar (2/11), Oinam Kiran (2/14) sharing 6 crucial wickets for YAC.
