Leimajam Nongthang strikes gold at All India Inter University Best Physique Competition

IMPHAL, Mar 10 : Leimajam Nongthang of Western College, Konthoujam clinched a gold medal for Manipur University at the All India Inter University Best Physique Competition 2024-25 for men hosted by Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit, Kalady, Ernakulam, Kerala from March 7 to 9.
Nongthang earned the gold medal in the 80 kg category as Phamdom Arun of Ng Mani College, Khurai clinched a silver medal in the 70 kg category while Thokchom Yaisana of Standard College, Kongba settled for the 4th place in the 75 kg category competition.
The Manipur University team were led by K Surjit Meitei, Assistant Professor, Standard College as the manager and Maibam Shaolin of Sports Department, MU as coach.
The Vice-Chancellor and members of the MU Sports Committee congratulated the victorious MU team.
