Manipur end U-15 Women’s One Day Trophy Elite campaign winless

IMPHAL, Jan 10 : Manipur ended the U-15 Women’s One Day Trophy Elite campaign winless as they went down by 275 runs to Karnataka at Aditya Academy Ground, Kolkata.
Electing to bat first Karnataka raised a mammoth total of 321 runs for 5 wickets in the allotted 35 overs thanks to a unbeaten ton from Kashvi Kandikuppa (158 off 66 balls; 23 fours and 7 sixes) and a half century knock from Sheetal Santosh (52 off 48; 10 fours).
Chasing the huge total, Manipur were dismissed for 46 runs within 23.3 overs as Patil Nynisha Reddy (5/11 in 7 overs), Sreeka Chatura (2/8), and Harshitha K (2/1) shared 9 crucial wickets.
For Manipur, Farjiya (2/38), Alice Thokchom (1/63), Linthoi (1/56), and Bigyapati (1/36) shared the five wickets in the first innings before Linthoi 11 not out off 62 emerged the only double digit run scorer in the chase.
It was the fifth loss on the trot for Manipur in the Group D Elite campaign.
