Babina Hospital offers 20pc discount to scribes

IMPHAL, Jan 9 : As a New Year gift to the media fraternity, Babina Hospital is offering a 20% discount in the treatment of All Manipur Working Journalists' Union (AMWJU) members.
This is a significant increase from the previously offered 10% discount.
Making the announcement, Babina Group of Companies Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) Dr Thangjam Dhabali also assured that  steps will be taken to offer similar benefits to journalists of the State who are not affiliated with AMWJU.
The announcement was made during a "Media Interaction and New Year Courtesy Meet" held today at Babina Hospital, Khabeisoi. Simple gifts were presented to media persons at today's event.
Highlighting the welfare measures undertaken by the Babina Group of Companies, the CMD reiterated that Babina Diagnostic Centre also offers a 30% discount to journalists.
Urging people to maintain good health, the CMD said that only 5% of people who visit the hospital for treatment carry health insurance cards.
Commenting on the prolonged Manipur crisis, Dr Thangjam Dhabali said that after the Covid pandemic, the State was on track for development, even going on to host G20 sessions in 2023.
However, the eruption of violence on May 3, 2023, has greatly affected the people of Manipur who continue to face hardships to this day, more than two and a half years after the turmoil began, he maintained.
