5th MNCA Superplate Trophy 2025-26 PTCC, AKSDO extend winning run to four games

IMPHAL, Jan 10 : PTCC, Patsoi Part III beat KASC, Khomidok by 16 runs and AKSDO, Khangabok defeated Blue Hawk, Khurai by 4 wickets today to stretch their winning run to four games in the ongoing 5th MNCA Superplate Trophy 2025-26.
In the Group A match staged at Khudeiband Lampak, Taothong, PTCC rode on Shapam Kenjit’s allround show to seal the 16-run victory.
Electing to bat first, PTCC faced a tough time and slumped to 166 all out in 29.5 overs despite efforts from Paonam Champion (71-ball 57; 7 fours), Shapam Kenjit (25 off 24; 3 fours and 1 six), and Naorem Dhirendrakishore (15 off 19; 3 fours).
Their bowlers however overhauled KASC’s performance to dismiss them for 150 runs in 34.1 overs despite half century knocks from Md Ali Karim 53 off 61 and Afjal Khan 52 off 71 and went atop Group B table on 8 points from 5 matches.
Qurshid Alam 3/19, Bm Irfan 2/36, and Md Javed Aktar 2/26 shared 7 crucial wickets for KASC in the first innings before Moirangthem Dominic 3/31, Shapam Kenjit 2/9, and Okram Sadananda 2/28 shone for PTCC.
Shapam Kenjit was adjudged player of the match for his allround feat.
Elsewhere at Model Hr Sec and Oriental College playground, Saikhom Kaiku enjoyed a fifer (5/21 in 7 overs) to ensure AKSDO register 4 wicket win against Blue Hawk and boosted their semi-final hopes.
Saikhom Kaiku, Elangbam Chingamba (2/14 in 2.3 overs), and Laishram Roshan (1/12 in 7 overs) led in bundling out toss winners Blue Hawk for a meagre total of 114 runs in 31.3 overs despite Nongthombam Ajit’s 43-ball 44 and Amom Guniram’s 50-ball 32.
AKSDO then rode on contributions from Bishorjit Mangang 37 off 75, E Chingamba 30 off 54, and Khundongbam Khamba 20 off 32 to reach the target in 31.2 overs with 4 wickets left to spare.
S Sem (2/21), N Jackiechan (1/25), A Guniram (1/15), Boinao (1/17), and W Farid (1/10) were among the wickets for Blue Hawk.
