That the victory has arrived on the 222nd anniversary of the historic battle of Vertieres, leading to the emergence of Haiti as the world's first Black republic, has made the success more special with the transmitted message being "We can rise together"! Along with Haiti, the Caribbean island of Curacao has also created history by qualifying for the World Cup as the "smallest Nation by population" (1,56,000) ever to play the finals after drawing the match with Jamaica --- thereby breaking the previous record of Iceland (population 3,50,000) with the team's Coach Dick Advocaat to emerge as the oldest coach ever in World Cup finals (aged 78)!
