IMPHAL, Jan 13 : A group of aspiring Assistant Professors has urged the Manipur Public Service Commission (MPSC) to refrain from mixing positions in the Education subject with those in other fields.
Notably, a notification issued by the MPSC for Assistant Professor recruitment recently allowed students from allied subjects to apply for positions in other fields, such as candidates from Home Science applying for posts in Economics.
Addressing the media at Manipur Press Club, Thongram Anilkumar, an aspirant, stated that there are 28 positions for Education in the recruitment of 419 Assistant Professors.
He appealed to the authorities concerned not to award any marks during the screening process for Education posts to candidates who did not study Education during their undergraduate course.
He also said that there are no allied subjects for Education subject as per an order issued by the Manipur University on January 7.
He said that they submit a representation which highlights their demand to the Directorate of University and Higher Education.
