Written reply awaited

IMPHAL, Jan 13: COCOMI has not yet received the written plan for return and resettlement of internally displaced persons assured by the Governor, said Khuraijam Athouba today.
The convenor of the Coordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity (COCO-MI) said this during a press meet at the committee's office at Lamphelpat. Notably, the assurance to present the IDP return/resettlement plan in writing was reportedly given to COCOMI members and representatives of internally displaced persons at Lok Bhavan yesterday.
The IDPs and COCOMI had organised a massive protest demonstration yesterday, and their representatives met Governor Bhalla at the Lok Bhavan. During the meeting, the Governor reportedly assured the COCOMI convenor Khuraijam Athouba and several IDP representatives to give a "written reply" on the plan for return, resettlement of IDPs today. Addressing media persons this evening, Athouba said COCOMI has not yet received the assured "written reply" from the Governor. If the written reply as assured is given late in the evening, Athouba said, the COCOMI and IDPs will study it, and share with the public.
