2nd Khelo India State Level Thang-Ta C’ship 2025-26 from Jan 19

IMPHAL, Jan 13 : The 2nd edition of Khelo India State Level Thang-Ta Championship 2025-26 is set to be held from January 19 to 23 at Thang-Ta Maheikol, Yumnam Huidrom Makha Leikai, Imphal West.
Huyel Langlon Thang-Ta Association, Manipur is going to host the championship with the support of the Sports Authority of India, North East Regional Centre, Takyel, said Regional Director of SAI NERC, Imphal in a press release.
The primary objective of the championship is to promote the rich tradition of Thang-Ta, the indigenous martial art of Manipur, and to provide a competitive platform for talented athletes across the State.
All affiliated district/ unit associations, clubs, and academies may take part in the championship that will see athletes in sub-junior, junior and senior categories compete in Phunaba Ama, Phunaba Anishuba, Thang-Haiba, Thanglon, Khonglon- Khutlon events.
The championship offers medals and certificates for all winners and podium finishers and overall championship trophy for top unit/club/ or associations, it said.
Entry forms can be obtained from Thang-Ta Maheikol, Yumnam Huidrom Makha Leikai free of cost and the last date of entry submission is January 17. Athletes/ units/ guardians concerned may contact H Kirankumar (9862515078) and S Shyamananda (9612795292) for technical queries, it said while urging all units, clubs, and academies concerned to ensure maximum participation and make the championship a grand success.
