IMPHAL, Jan 17
The Kangleipak Students' Association (KSA) has urged the Manipur Public Service Commission (MPSC) to issue a clarification regarding the recruitment of 419 Assistant Professors for various Government colleges as the inclusion of allied subjects in the eligibility criteria for posts in different subjects has caused confusion among both aspirants and the public.
In a statement issued by its publicity secretary Langoljam Rajesh, KSA said that the MPSC had issued a notification on Dec- ember 5 last year for the recruitment of Assistant Professors.
However, the notification was later revised, and a new one was issued on December 19, allowing allied and relevant subjects to apply for posts in different fields.
According to the MPSC, the allied/relevant subjects will be those listed as allied subjects in the order issued by Manipur University (MU) on September 12, 2025, it said.
However, scholars and experts have pointed out that the allied subjects listed in the MU order are intended for PhD program- mes, not for recruitment purposes, it added.
Stating that the confusion surrounding eligibility has unsettled the aspirants, KSA urged the MPSC to issue a clarification to resolve the issue.
Meanwhile, KSA mentioned that the last date for form submission is January 19, with online submissions are accepted till 11.59 pm and offline submissions accepted till January 19.
Asking whether the MPSC office will remain open until midnight on January 19 to accommodate form submissions, KSA urged the MPSC to look into the matter.
