EYOL resolves to uphold traditional customs

THOUBAL, Jan 17: Enat Yokkhatpa Luptin (EYOL) Manipur has resolved to uphold the traditional customs and practices of Meitei society at the Wabagai Meepham held today at Kalika Laibung.
The public meeting was jointly organised by EYOL, Ima Kalika Thougal Lup, Chaokhat Khongthang VLF (Wabagai) and Thouna Fabi VLF.
The resolutions collectively passed at the meeting include- restricting "inappropriate customs/practices" in traditional ceremonies, avoiding over the top "sel thaba" during weddings and other rituals, wearing traditional garments during such ceremonies without fail and formation of a committee to oversee the implementation of these resolutions in collaboration with EYOL, among others.
Longjamcha Sanathoi, vice president, EYOL was present at the meeting along with locals of Wabagai.
