Dayananda Thoudam wins 2nd DCA Players' Chess Tournament

IMPHAL, Jan 18: Dayananda Thoudam has emerged the champion of the 2nd DCA Players' Chess Tournament 2026.
34 players participated in the tournament, organised by the D Chess Academy (DCA) on January 17 and 18.
Lemba Sougaijam secured the 2nd position, followed by Veeral Mongjam in 3rd place.
Punsiba Maisnam secured the 4th position, while Rajasmita Hanjabam claimed the 5th position.
DCA ranking of players
Jonex Nandeibam ranked 1st in the U-15 boys category
Nongthombam Anjelina Chanu ranked 1st in the U-15 girls category
Stanley Meethpoiba Lourembam ranked 1st in the U-13 boys
Kathrine Potshangbam ranked 1st in the U-13 girls
Magnus Chingsubam ranked 1st in the U-11 boys
Lorena Nameirakpam ranked 1st in the U-11 girls
Leirikhomba Mangang ranked 1st in the U-9 boys
Rajkumari Sanghamitra Devi ranked 1st in the U-9 girls
Rajkumar Thoiba ranked 1st in the U-7 boys
Lingjelleima Thokchom ranked 1st in the U-7 girls
Aribam Muhindro Shama, president, Manipur Chess Association, Tourabgbam lndrajit Singh, Councillor, Uripok Ward No 6, Lourembam Sandeep Meitei, president, DCA Tournament Committee attended the closing ceremony today.
