18th Manipur State League Sonalish double steers UPAA to 3-0 win over Milan FA, YDO stun TRAU 2-0

IMPHAL, Jan 19 : Sonalish scored twice as UPAA, Kyamgei blanked Milan FA, Heikakmapal Awang Leikai 3-0 for the third straight Group B win in the ongoing 18th Manipur State League.
Ahanthem Sonalish put UPAA ahead off a penalty in the 25th minute at Artificial Turf Ground, Lamlong Thongkhong before completing his brace in the 52nd minute. Pongshungbam Harish then hit the decisive goal for UPAA in the 62nd minute.
In the second Group B match of the day, SDC, Samurou were held to a 1-1 draw by Imphal FA, Lamphel Sanakeithel.
SDC enjoyed a slender 1-0 lead courtesy of Naorem Lanchenba Mangang’s 23rd minute strike but Imphal FA rode on Mashunyar Awungshi, who subbed in for Rejoice Chithung at the restart, to draw level in the 82nd minute.
The scoreline remained intact as neither team made the most of the chances in the remainder of the game.
Later in the last Group B match of the day, Youth Development Organisation (YDO) thumped Tiddim Road Athletic Union (TRAU) by 2-0 goals. Lamabam Gogocha was first to strike in the 21st minute before Angom Bisan who came off the bench in the 83rd minute converted a penalty 3 minutes into the stoppage time and sealed YDO’s first win in three matches.
