IMPHAL, Jan 28 : Hosts Manipur finished runners up in the 69th National School Games U-19 Girls’ Football Tournament as they went down 0-1 to Jharkhand in the final match staged this morning at Khuman Lampak Main Stadium.
The lone goal that earned Jharkhand the title win was scored by Kajal Kumari in the 34th minute.
The tournament organised by the Department of Youth Affairs and Sports (YAS), Government of Manipur was formally closed in the presence of Naorem Praveen, Secretary- YAS as chief guest and Dr Mayengbam Veto, Director-YAS as functional president
Olympians N Kunjarani (weightlifting), Ng Sonia (weightlifting), K Chinglensana (hockey) and L Sushila (judo), and other sports personalities- Arjuna Awardee M Bimoljit (Wushu), Padma Shree O Bembem (Footballer), Tababi Devi Thongam (Footballer), and SGFI Observer Arvind Kumar also attended the event as guests of honour.
