1st S Sansel Koireng Memorial Trophy concludes

Bungte Chiru Youth Club emerged as the champions of the inaugural S Sansel Koireng Memorial Trophy (9 Men A-Side Village Open Football Tournament).
The tournament organised by Longa Koireng Youth Club in honour of Late Subedar S Sansel Koireng was held from January 27 to 29 at Longa Koireng Playground, Kangpokpi District with 10 strong teams participating in it.
Bungte Chiru Youth Club defeated Longa Koireng Youth Club 6-0 in the final showdown to deservingly lift the tourney title and walk away Rs 30,000 richer said, a press release issued by Longa Koireng Youth Club.
Runners up and hosts Longa Koireng Youth Club received a cash prize of Rs 15,000 and trophy, it said while adding that Kamu Koireng Youth Welfare Association were adjudged the best disciplined team (Rs 3,000 cash prize).
Japuilung of Bungte Chiru Youth Club’s Japuilung and Longa Koireng Youth Club’s Mangminlun meanwhile claimed the top scorer and best player awards worth Rs 2,000 each, it added.
