CHPC beat LKL 8-3 in 20th Women’s State Polo Tourney

IMPHAL, Jan 3 : Chingkheihunba Polo Club (CHPC) beat Linthoingambi Kangjei Lup (LKL) 8-3 for their third win in four matches of the 20th Women’s State Polo Tournament being conducted by the All Manipur Polo Association at Mapal Kangjeibung.
RK Neelu led the way in CHPC’s victory today as she struck four times across first three chukkers including twice in the second chukker while M Bijenty and Tanna added 2 goals apiece.
Kh Deventy scored twice to earn LKL a 2-1 first chukker lead but Neelu, Bijenty and Tanna all found the target in the second chukker to make it 5-2.
Bijenty and Neelu then scored a goal apiece in the third chukker to further extend the lead to 7-2 before Tanna scored her second and her team’s final in the fourth chukker that also saw Ranjita scoring one for LKL.
39th Men’s State Polo beginning tomorrow
The 39th Men’s State Polo Tournament organised by the All Manipur Polo Association is also beginning tomorrow (January 4).
As many as 34 teams will vie for the top honours of the tournament that will be held in the knock-out format.
