IMPHAL, Jan 3 : MPSC, Manipur Central Jail beat WYC, Thoubal Wangkhem by 25 runs for the fourth Group B win on the trot in the 5th MNCA Superplate Tournament.
Asked to bat first at Khangabok Cherapur Public Ground, MPSC were dismissed for 144 runs in 27.2 overs but Sarangthem Shangker (4/24), Th Gelson (2/31), and M Bijoykumar (2/18) led their bowling attack and dismantled WYC for the 119 within 26 overs.
Gelson 32, Th Rakesh 24, Bijoykumar 24 earlier led the scoring for MPSC in the first innings that saw W Lakshmon (3/25), G Mangi (2/35), Kh Arbin (2/8), and M Sushil (2/28) sharing 9 wickets for WYC.
Mangi 24, W Samungou 17 and Shushil 16 led the WYC chase in a lost cause.
Elsewhere at Model Hr Sec and Oriental College Ground, PCC, Mayaikoibi beat CDCC, Sagolband Salam Leikai by 45 runs for the second Group A win in three matches.
Asked to bat first, Takhelmayum Vikash scored a 44-ball 61 to guide PCC to 169 before Thokchom Anand (3/23), N Devraj (2/16), and Longjam Ronald (2/18) set up the CDCC collapse at 124 in 34.2 overs.
Earlier in the first innings, Khurshid Alam (4/21), Ksh Robert (2/20), and M Lucky (2/47) led the bowling attack for CDCC before S Lanchenba 24 emerged the highest run getter in the chase.
