Veteran Cricket YPHU-W tame CYCLONE by 5 wickets to top Group B

IMPHAL, Jan 3 : YPHU-Warrior (W), Lalambung defeated CYCLONE, Thangmeiband by 5 wickets for the four of four Group B wins in the 22nd Manipur Veteran Cricket Tournament.
With the result, YPHU-W emerged runaway Group B leaders and eventually qualified for the quarterfinals.
CYCLONE, who opted to bat first, added 152 runs for 9 wickets in the allotted 30 overs but YPHU-W eased to the winning 155 in 21 overs with 5 wickets left to spare.
Sajid Bakhs 26 off 30, Arun 23 off 27 and Jugalkishore 18 off 23 led the scoring for CYCLONE in the first innings where in Heromen (3/34) and Hemanta (2/28) shared 5 wickets for YPHU-W while three other claimed a wicket apiece.
In reply, Romeo scored an unbeaten 54 off 42 balls to seal the victory after Kumarkanta added 42 off 47 balls.
Surjit claimed two wickets for CYCLONE in this innings as three others picked a wicket apiece.
Kumarkanta who added 42 runs and picked one wicket was declared man of the match.
