IMPHAL, Jan 7 : KASC, Khomidok sealed their second Group A league round win in the 5th MNCA Superplate Trophy 2025-26 with a 115-run thrashing of FORCE, Kshetrigao at Khangabok Cherapur Public Ground today.
Muhammad Ali Karim was unstoppable today as went hammer and tong to score a 111-ball 140 and raised KASC to a daunting 255/7 with the assistance of Afjal Khan who also hit a 60-ball 62 before Bm Irfan picked five (5/39) in his spell of 7 overs to set up KASC collapse at 139 win 32.5 overs.
KASC, who opted to bat first, faced double whammy and were reduced to 4/2 in 3 overs as Syed Ashif and Wakip Sheikh removed the openers but Afjal and Md Ali Karim forged 164 off 150 runs for the third wicket to take India close to 200-run mark.
Ali Karim was first to complete a half century off 61 balls with a single courtesy of an off drive to long off in the 21st over before his partners Afjal hit Tashib Alam for a six to deep mid wicket in the final delivery of the 23rd over to complete 51 off 49 balls and take KASC to 124/2.
Following Afjal’s departure on 62, Ali Karim continued to remain calm and carried forward the game before completing his century off 99 balls with a cut shot to deep backward point for a single off the bowling of Syed Ashif.
Ali Karim continued to anchor as his partners fell to Abdul Rajaque before he was caught behind on 140 off the bowling of Syed Ashif for the 7th wicket as the scoreboard read 247.
Mujamin 3 and Qurshid Alam 10 were unbeaten as KASC closed out the innings at 255/7.
Syed Ashif (3/74 in 7 overs) and Md Abdul Rajaque (3/43) shared 6 wickets for FORCE in the innings before they ended up scoring 139 for all wickets down in 32.5 overs.
Ziad Khan 35 off 59 and Md Kabir Ahmed 32 off 50 were the main scorers for FORCE in a lost cause as Bm Irfan and Md Sakif Hussain (2/25) shared 7 crucial wickets and Bm Afsar and Md Javed Aktar picked a wicket apiece.
Centurion Md Ali Karim was eventually adjudged player of the match.
Elsewhere at Model Hr Sec and Oriental College ground, NCA, Ningthoukhong ended their 3-game Group B losing run by beating UCC, Kangchup by 2 wickets.
After opting to bat first, UCC were bundled out for 133 runs in 30.2 overs before NCA struggled their way to the target in 33.3 overs with 2 wickets left to spare.
Haobam Ajitkumar 21, Thokchom Yohenba 18 and L Bipinkumar 16 led the UCC today in the innings that saw RK Rojeeson (4/9) and K Roshan (3/21) of NCA sharing 7 wickets while three others chipped in a wicket apiece.
UCC’s Th Yoihenba (3/22) and Th Mocha (2/36) did their best to contain NCA batters but RK Rojeeson held his nerve and anchored with an unbeaten 40 off 91 balls to seal the victory in 33.3 overs with P Putin 2 off 4.
RK Rojeeson was adjudged player of the match.
