IMPHAL, Jan 7: MLA Yumnam Khemchand has strongly condemned the serial bomb blast that occurred at Saiton Nganukon village, Bishnupur district on January 5, 2026 in which two villagers were injured.
Khemchand has also prayed for speedy recovery of the injured victims.
Noting that the blasts occurred at a time when different civil society organisations have been working for the return of peace in Manipur, Khemchand also recalled the firing incident that took place at Torbung recently.
Saying that both the Government of India and the PR administration have been working hard to bring peace and normalcy in the State, and IDPs belonging to both the communities are trying to return to their homes, the BJP MLA expressed suspicion that foreign agencies/external hand could be trying to take advantage of the ongoing conflict in Manipur to foment further trouble.
Khemchand has urged the Government of India to take the matter seriously and investigate the case.
He added that the ongoing civil war and conflicts in neighbouring Myanmar and Bangladesh are affecting the Northeast region.
