KANGPOKPI, Jan 8: The Kuki Inpi Manipur (KIM) has unequivocally endorsed the resolution passed by the Kuki-Zo Council (KZC) during its governing council general meeting on December 30, 2025, reaffirmed later by the KZC cabinet.
KIM said that the resolution reflects the collective will, democratic aspirations, and lived realities of the Kuki-Zo people.
According to the body, the current political, social, and security environment in Manipur has made coexistence under the existing administrative framework untenable.
Any attempt to normalize governance without addressing these issues, it stressed, is fundamentally flawed.
KIM categorically stated that no Kuki-Zo individual or legislator, irrespective of political affiliation, should participate in, support, or legitimize the formation of the Government of Manipur.
Such participation, the organization said, would directly contradict the expressed collective mandate of the Kuki-Zo people and the unified position of their representative bodies.
KIM has also endorsed the KZC’s call for a Separate Administration in the form of a Union Territory under the Constitution of India.
KIM said that any attempt to impose or engineer a Government without addressing these core demands would be reckless, illegitimate, and disconnected from ground realities.
KIM further clarified that any individual acting contrary to this collective decision does so at their own personal responsibility and shall not represent or bind the Kuki2 people in any way.
“The will and wishes of the Kuki-Zo people are non-negotiable. Any attempt to undermine or bypass this collective mandate will be viewed as a direct affront to the political voice, dignity, and unity of our people,” KIM added.
