Veteran Cricket Tournament : TCMDC tame CYCLONE by 5 wickets to squeeze into quarterfinals

IMPHAL, Jan 8 : TCMDC, Thongju defeated CYCLONE by 5 wickets for the third win and to finish Group B runners up in the 22nd Manipur Veteran Cricket Tournament 2025-26.
By virtue of the runners up finish, TCMDC qualified for the quarterfinals alongside YPHU-Warriors who registered four of four league round victories to finish Group B winners.
TCMDC chose wisely to bowl first today and bowled out 10-man CYCLONE for 98 runs in 26.2 overs and chased down the target in 21 overs riding on contributions from Tarun 28 off 30, Gulshannanda 17 off 23, Sanjit 14 off 15, Rakesh 12 off 12, Premjit 11 not out off 24 and Krishna 10 off 19.
Roben 20 off 28, Bobby 18 off 25, Shashikumar 16 off 36, Chinglensana 10 off 11 and Dhanendrajit 10 off 19 managed double digit scores for CYCLONE earlier in the first innings that saw Jiten enjoying a four wicket haul (4/9 in 5.2 overs) and Brajakumar claiming two wickets (2/17 in 6 overs) for TCMDC.
For CYCLONE, Tiken finished with the best bowling figures of 3/23 in 6 overs as Chinglensana and Roben picked a wicket apiece.
