Report extortion threats : Govt to all

IMPHAL, Jan 9 : Aiming to fight extortion activities across the State, the Government of Manipur has encouraged everyone, including Govt employees, to promptly report extortion threats to the Integrated Anti-Extortion Cell. The toll free helpline number for public reporting is 1800-202-3326, which is available 24/7, said a press release issued by N Ashok Kumar, Commissioner (Home).
Citizens can use it to report extortion threats made via calls, messages, letters etc. The Unit will respond quickly by coordinating with relevant police stations and security forces to take effective measures, said the release.
The Integrated Anti-Extortion Cell was set up by the Government of Manipur on January 26, 2025 within the Home Department, bringing together members from the State police, Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) and Assam Rifles/Indian Army.
