More than 75 years after India's independence, the country is still struggling to move away from the Macaulay Education System established by the British. Intellectual and academic "decolonization" is still a work in progress.
The IKS is an important document created to escape intellectual colonization, he said.

Professor Aakash Shaw outlined the objectives and structure of the week-long programme, stating that the initiative seeks to provide both theoretical insights and practical approaches for educators to incorporate IKS into classroom practices effectively.
Distinguished academic resource persons, including Dr Chakradhar Meher from Central Sanskrit University, shared perspectives on the scholarly and civilizational dimensions of Indian Knowledge Systems, stressing their contemporary relevance in education, ethics, science, and society.
