Cheibi Federation of India formed, elects office bearers

IMPHAL, Feb 10 : With the aim of promoting, preservation and development of Cheibi, a traditional indigenous sport, at National level, the Cheibi Federation of India (CFI) was flouted on February 8 during a meeting held at Sagolband Salam Leikai.
Representatives from many Indian States including Karnataka, Tripura, Assam, Meghalaya and Telangana attended the historic formation meeting, said Cheibi Federation of India.
During the meeting, the executive members and office bearers of the federation were democratically elected to lead the organisation and work for the growth of Cheibi across the country it said.
The newly elected office bearers include Saikhom Deven Mangang as federation president; Thangjam Robindro, Kshetrimayum Manilal and Kshetrimayum Somendro as vice presidents; Wahengbam Bojendro as general secretary; Okram Wangngamba as assistant secretary; Nameirakpam Deban as treasurer; Irengbam Angabala, Maisnam Leikhendro, Kangabam Ajit and Saikhom Chinglemba as joint secretaries; Irengbam Bijenti (Karnataka), Chongtham Ryan and Saikhom Lamjingleima as publicity secretaries along with 12 executive members.
Nongmaithem Prasenjit (Tripura), Saraswati Rajathesh (Telangana), Diya I (Karnataka), Moirangthem Ibomcha (Assam), Chongtham Thangamba (Meghalaya), Hari (Karnataka), Ranajit Singha (Assam), Divakar Nagaranjan (Karnataka), Kangabam Ajit, Angom Boy, Kshetrimayum Kanta, and Sapam Inaobi were executive members elected during the meeting, CFI said.
