IMPHAL, Feb 14 : CHAMP, Khagempalli and CYCLONE, Thangmeiband emerged victorious in today’s matches of the ongoing XIII T-20 Manipur Veteran Cricket Tournament at Langthabal Public Ground.
CHAMP sealed their first Group A win in two matches by handing LCC, Lamsang a 60 run defeat this morning.
Gopeshore smashed a quickfire 62 off 38 balls while Deva 34 not out and Uttam 27 not out made significant contributions to raise a daunting total of 151 for 4 wickets for CHAMP today before Ajitkumar (4/21), Naresh (2/22) and Uttam (2/15) led in bundling out LCC for 91 runs within 16.3 overs.
Earlier, Shyamjai 2/23, Nandakumar 1/34 and Rajmani 1/25 shared four wickets for LCC before they had a disastrous chase.
Uttam, who produced an all round show, was declared man of the match.
Later in the day, CYCLONE slumped to 127 all out in 19.2 overs before holding YAC to 109 for 6 wickets in reply and securing the 18-run victory.
Surjit 36 and Arun 24 led the scoring for CYCLONE today after they elected to bat first as Chitranjan (3/10) and Kritikumar (2/24) led the YAC bowling attack.
Kritikumar 31 and Birjit 29 toiled hard to keep the chase alive but CYCLONE bowler proved too economical for them.
Tiken returned with the best figures of 2/12 for CYCLONE as Dhanendrajit and Robindro picked a wicket apiece.
Tiken was named man of the match.
