18th Manipur State League NMFA go top of Group B table with 9-1 demolition of YDO

IMPHAL, Feb 16 : NMFA, Salam extended their winning run to 5 games and unbeaten run to 6 games in the 18th Manipur State League Group B competition as they demolished YDO, Kwakeithel Lamdong 9-1 this morning at Artificial Turf Ground, Lamlong Thongkhong.
Irengbam Indrajit (4’, 30’, 76’) and Moirangthem Ronik (43’, 54’) contributed five goals in NMFA’s win today as Salam Dhiren (7’), Urikhimbam Pritam (35’), Leitanthem Malemnganba (71’) and Wakambam Jeny (73’) netted a goal apiece.
For YDO, Maibam Somendro scored the consolation goal late in the 85th minute.
In the second Group B match of the day, FC Kumbi sealed their second win in six games by defeating Milan FA 2-0.
Sorokhaibam Robert (21’) and Soram Sumit (90+4’) scored on each side of the break to seal the victory for FC Kumbi.
Later in the third match, the 5 game unbeaten run of UPAA, Kyamgei came to an end with Social Development Club (SDC), Samurou handing them a 4-1 thrashing.
SDC led the first half 2-1 before pumping in two more goals in the second half to ensure the 4-1 victory.
Aimson (13’, 51’), Kishan Naorem (38’) and Longjam Seitam (87’) were on target for SDC today as Tensubam Donaldo scored the lone goal for UPAA (45+1’) in the added time of the opening half.
With the results, NMFA went on top in the 8-team table with 16 points (5 wins and 1 draw in 6 matches) as UPAA slipped to second place with 13 points (4 wins and 1 draw in 6 matches).
