AR launches Volleyball Tournament at COB Komlakhong

Assam Rifles inaugurated the Assam Rifles Open Volleyball Tournament 2026 at COB Komlakhong under Operation Sadbhavana, with the aim of encouraging sporting talent and fostering unity among local youth.
The tournament, scheduled from February 16 to 18, has drawn enthusiastic participation from 12 teams representing youth clubs across the region, said PRO IGAR (S) in a press release.
The opening ceremony was held today at the Helipad Ground, with Yumnam Shantikumar Singh, Principal of Moral Guidance School, Komlakhong, gracing the occasion as chief guest.
He formally declared the tournament open with a ceremonial throw of the volleyball, followed by a group photograph with the players and organisers, it said.
The inaugural match featured Ngakhapat Youth Development Association against Konuma Erel Youth Development Association, where Konuma Erel YDA secured a convincing victory by winning two consecutive sets.
