1,277 students appear for Class XII examination in Senapati

Senapati, Feb 17: A total of 1,277 candidates are appearing for the Class XII Examination 2026 in Senapati district, which commenced on Tuesday.
The examination is being conducted by the Council of Higher Secondary Education, Manipur (COHSEM).
According to reports, the district has 5 examination centres this year. Don Bosco Hr Sec School, Senapati is accomodating 189 candidates, while Senapati Hr Sec School has 177 candidates. Mt Pisgah Hr Sec School is hosting 264 candidates, Don Bosco Hr Sec School, Maram has the highest number with 560 candidates, and Don Bosco Hr Sec School, Punanamei, Mao has 89 candidates.
Rev Fr Nepuni William, Officer-in-Charge of Don Bosco Hr Sec School, Senapati examination centre, stated that candidates from seven higher secondary schools are appearing at the centre with a total strength of 189 students.
Expressing optimism, he hoped that the students would perform well and extended gratitude to the Council for selecting the school as an examination centre.
The Senapati District Students Association (SDSA), the apex student body of the district, has been conducting inspections at all examination centres to ensure the smooth and fair conduct of the examinations.
Speaking to the media at one of the centres,  Saloni Tony, President of SDSA, said the association has been carrying out inspections, as in previous years, to ensure that the examinations are conducted in a free, fair, peaceful and conducive environment.
Saloni also mentioned that Senapati Hr Sec School, located at Katomei, has been alloted as an examination centre for the first time this year.
Wishing all candidates success, Saloni remarked that the examination should mark a milestone in the academic journey. "Grades don't matter, but the effort does," he said, adding that the association believes in quality over quantity.
The examination will conclude on March 20, 2026.
