8th Manipur Players’ Day Invitational Football Championship from Feb 20

IMPHAL, Feb 17 : Manipuri Students’ Federation (MSF) in close coordination with five other student bodies- AMSU, DESAM, KSA, SUK and AIMS is set to host the 8th Manipur Players’ Day Invitational Football Championship from February 20.
The championship is held in line with the Manipur Players’ Day observance held annually to commemorate Manipur’s title feat at the 5th National Games. 6 teams (clubbed into two groups) representing the student bodies will be participating in the tournament beginning on February 20 before the final match (between group winners) on February 25, said MSF in a press release.
The final day will also witness exhibition matches between Mami Thawan team and a team of 6 bodies and a team of 6 bodies and Manipur University Students’ Union (MUSU), it said while seeking support from all quarters to make the event a grand success.
