IMPHAL, Feb 19: The Assam Rifles Polo Women Polo Team beat Imphal Riding Polo Club Lamphel 6-3 to win the trophy of the 4th Chittamohini State Women's Polo Cup 2026.
In the final match at Mapal Kangjeibung, Imphal, O Veronica scored a treble to help the Assam Rifles team beat Imphal Riding Polo Club 6-3.
O Veronica scored her first goal in the second chukker and added two more goals in the 4th chukker.
The score at the end of the first chukker was 2-2.
The Assam Rifles Women Polo Team opened their account with two goals from N Laxmi and M Enourembi in the chukker.
Mona Kamei and Kh Deventy Devi scored the two goals for Imphal Riding Polo Club in the first chukker.
The second chukker saw Assam Rifles leading 4-3 with two more goals from O Veronica and N Laxmi.
Kh Habe Devi scored the third and last goal for Imphal Riding Polo Club.
The 3rd chukker ended without any goals from both sides.
The 4th chukker saw Assam Rifles' O Veronica scoring two goals to end the match 6-3.
National Sports University Vice Chancellor Dr Shyam Sundar Rath, Transport Director Khumanthem Diana Devi, 9 Sector Assam Rifles Commander Brig Pratyush Kumar, retired Associate professor N Radhapyari Devi attended the closing ceremony of the tournament.
The Assam Rifles Women Polo Team bagged Rs 50,000 cash prize, and the Imphal Riding Polo Club received a cash prize of Rs 40,000.
O Veronica was named the best player and she received a cash prize of Rs 10,000.
Each participating team received Rs 3,000.
