PM, CM lead in condoling Valte

IMPHAL, Feb 21 : Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chief Minister Y Khemchand, Nambol AC MLA Th Basantakumar and the Meitei Alliance have condoled the demise of Thanlon AC MLA Vungzagin Valte.
The Prime Minister expressed deep sorrow over the passing of BJP's Kuki Zo MLA Vungzagin Valte, remembering him as a dedicated leader who worked tirelessly for the people of Manipur.
In a message shared on X, the Prime Minister said Valte's contributions in the Manipur Assembly were insightful and aimed at bringing positive change to society.
He extended condolences to the bereaved family, friends and supporters, noting that Valte's public service and commitment to his community will be remembered.
Chief Minister Y Khemchand, in his message, said that Valte was a respected leader who served the people with dedication.
Saying that his passing is a great loss for his family, supporters and the people of Manipur at large, he added that Valte will be remembered for his public service and commitment to the people.
Sharing the grief of Valte's family, the Chief Minister prayed for the departed soul to rest in eternal peace.
"Deeply saddened by the untimely demise of Pu Vungzagin Valte," Basantakumar said in his message.
His dedication to public service and commitment to the welfare of the people will always be remembered, the former Minister said and prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace.
The Meitei Alliance, condoling the demise of  Valte, extended its sympathies to the bereaved family, his supporters, and the people of Thanlon Constituency.
‘We pray for strength, comfort, and peace for all those mourning this irreplaceable loss,’ it said in a message.
Saying that the pain felt by one community is shared by all who yearn for peace in Manipur, the Alliance said that Valte’s tragic demise underlines the urgent need for sustained efforts toward healing, understanding, and reconciliation among all communities whose futures are interwoven in the shared destiny of Manipur.
Violence and retaliation have brought suffering to far too many families, it said and appealed to individuals, civil society organisations, and community leaders to honour Valte’s vision for all to see each other as Manipuris first, to reject hatred, to embrace dialogue, and to recommit to peace-building efforts so that such tragedies never recur.
"May his soul rest in peace, and may we find the strength and wisdom to walk together toward reconciliation and lasting peace, " the Alliance prayed.
