Tears of Loktak Lake

You came with laughter,
joy blooming in your hearts,
seeking a holiday's delight
on my sacred, silent shores—
once untouched by human hands.
But you know not
what you do.
You scatter your cheer,
yet leave scars in your wake:
cluttering my waters,
staining my breath.

Bellies full, hearts content,
minds alight with merriment—
while I weep beneath the moonlight,
quiet tears beneath your joy,
whispering to the reeds:
When will you know my heart?
My worth, my love
that cradles every life?
Let not your joy unravel my soul.

For if my world breaks,
if balance flees these depths...
I may not remain
as I once was.
Yet hear my plea, wanderer:
Return with gentle hands,
tread softly on my dreaming edge.

Together, let us weave harmony—
your joy, my song,
in eternal embrace with nature's grace.
