Black Watch PC win as 32nd Governor’s Cup Invitation Polo Tournament begins

IMPHAL, Feb 22 : Black Watch Polo Club outlasted Thangmeiband Youth Polo Club by 4-2 goals as the 32nd Governor’s Cup Invitation Polo Tournament kicked off at Mapal Kangjeibung.
The 8-team knock-out tournament organised by the Manipur Horse Riding and Polo Association, Imphal was attended by the Prof N Lokendra, VC, Manipur University as a dignitary among others.
The opening match saw M Chaoba and L Rohit scored a goal apiece in the first chukker to give Black Watch PC a 2-0 lead.
The Thangmeiband outfit however fought back and drew level in the second chukker thanks to a goal apiece from K Victor and S Saolin but the parity ended in the following chukker as Kh Yaikhomba scored twice to seal the 4-2 win for Black Watch Polo Club.
X-Polo Club will play Tekcham Polo Club in the next quarterfinal match tomorrow.
